Judge blocks parts of controversial Arizona immigration law

Federal U.S. District Judge Susan Bolton blocked several parts of the controversial Arizona immigration bill today, mere hours before the law was meant to take effect.  The law, which was passed earlier this year, requires immigrants to carry papers at all times to verify their legal status.  According to Judge Bolton, "Requiring Arizona law enforcement officials and agencies to determine the immigration status of every person who is arrested burdens lawfully-present aliens because their liberty will be restricted while their status is checked."  The judge also struck down the portion of the law disallowing illegal immigrations from openly soliciting work in public.  At the end of the day, this whole issue of immigration can be settled by simply loosening the restrictions to become a legal resident.  Seriously, this is just silly.  Weren't we at one time a country of immigrants?

Reports show audiences moving away from 3D

With all the hype surrounding the recent wave of newly released films with 3D adaptations, many - including myself - were beginning to wonder when this little trend would fade.  Alas, someone did the legwork and compared the numbers.  European publication TheSixAxis put together this nifty chart outlying the decline in attendance for the most recent 3D-released films.  Not looking all that mighty, anymore.  I know there are plenty of proponents to this 20+ year technology, but I for one am not a fan.  The glasses give me a headache. :(
